While you take a relaxing stroll along the school canteen or simply enjoying
a dish or two, you will be greeted by the Canteen Garden, a picturesque
patch of greenery aim at lightening up the surroundings of the canteen. It
helps in creating a more lively, beautiful and pleasant environment for
more conducive learning and education among students.

The concept of the Canteen Garden is the brainchild of several creative
and capable SMKDU students. The design of the gardens imitate that of
ancient Greece and Roman garden architectures. The few columns that
dot around the pergola clearly are replicas of ordinary Greek columns. A
pergola, an imitation of Roman garden structures stands in the centre of
the garden, providing shade to plants beneath it as vines from different
plants encircle the pergola's wooden skeletal structure. Ferns and pots of
flowering plants are hung upon the ceiling of the pergola, providing extra
shade and helping to beautify the garden. The Canteen Garden is truly
breathtaking and would indeed enrich your dining experience.
